Bill Winkler (AKA Bible Bill) is a Child of God. He resides in Peoria, IL, and is self-employed. Along with his wife, Cindy, they have 2 children and 5 grandchildren. He is an active member of Bethany Baptist Church and his epitaph will read: “Transformation has ended, perfection has begun. To God be all glory, honor and praise."

My Story
The idea for my two children’s Bible books came from my wife, Cindy. It came out of the the most difficult time in my 62 year-old life. On March 20, 2020, because of COVID-19, my family business was deemed “non-essential”. Because of this, it took 35 months for my company to be profitable again.
All of a sudden, time stood still. However, the Lord was teaching me how to be “quiet” before a Holy God. The Lord was teaching me to trust Him no matter what. The Lord was teaching me that He would never leave me nor forsake me because I am a Child of God. The Lord was showing me how faithful He truly is.
I would go to work and see an empty parking lot. I would work for 3 hours and then go home. Therefore, I had a lot of time on my hands. I would come home, read my Bible, study my Bible and memorize my Bible.
As a volunteer for Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF), I was able to present the Gospel message to children. I received much joy in doing this. However, I struggled with sharing the Gospel focusing mostly on “saving” without a major emphasis on having a relationship with Jesus. We are all God’s children, BUT we are not all Children of God. For, only a Child of God can say, “Jesus is my Savior”; only a Child of God can say, “Jesus is my King”; only a Child of God can say, “Jesus is my best friend forever (my BFF)”.
Thus, with the encouragement of my sister, Jill, my children’s Bible Books were written. My first Bible book (“THE BIBLE TELLS ME…”) teaches children how to become a Child of God. My second Bible Book (“WHEN I BECOME A CHILD OF GOD…”) is self-explanatory. The first Bible book’s emphasis is on “saving”. The second Bible book’s emphasis is on “changing”. Both books were written with one goal in mind: leading children to a relationship with Jesus!
I am on a daily mission. It is to serve my God and offer my life as an act of worship that pleases Him. I am part of a bigger story unfolding around me and I want the world to know and encounter the joy I’ve found in serving my God. God does NOT exist to make a big deal of me. I exist to make a big deal of God. May my life be an acceptable sacrifice to my God and may I be willing to follow wherever He leads. All glory, honor and praise be to the God of the Bible.
